When entering the MxL room, I felt like in a cinema or theatre. Its a "Cool" place indeed. We started the day by demo projects from 2 groups. One from Home Economics and another is Art, follow by experiencing the game based learning that we could use in school.
I like the idea on how they try to introduce the lesson of Healthy Choice for Home Economics. The information on the game based, which is Fitter Critters, is very useful for the students and at the same time very interactive. The information used in the programme is beneficial for the students. They are not just playing the games, but learning at the same time.
For the Art, the keynote programme is very helpful for the students to know basic drawing, especially for secondary students. And the deviant art is very beneficial for them as well as it can be used as their portfolio as they group has said. In a way, it is meant for the students to save all their work and get feedbacks from their teachers and peers on how to improve them, this indeed will motivate them more to make their works better each time.
· What you learnt: I learnt different ways on how games based learning can be incorporated in teaching. the games can be in terms of its complexity where student needs to think and solve the puzzle, or in terms of competition where they need to challenge their peers or in terms of cooperative with each peers where they help each other and try to explain how the games is played.
· How you learnt: by observing how the game is played and how interactive it can be for the students. As well as how the games might help students to understand better the subject taught.
· How you might change the way you teach: by incorporating the game based learning could be the start of changing way of teaching. Knowing which is the effective game based related to the subjects or lesson taught could help to motivate students to study and learn better.
